Intimate Winter Wedding in Girdwood, Alaska + Helicopter Glacier Landing | Brad & Brittani
Not every wedding involves photographing a couple beside the face of a glacier, but quite honestly, more should! As we flew over the mountain tops, Brad and Brittani recounted stories of their experiences on many of them. They are adventurers of the truest kind, but also the most kind and humble humans you could meet. Landing beside the glacier felt like touching down on another planet and was an absolutely fitting start to their wedding day.

It may be considered risky to elope in Alaska in September because of the unpredictable weather, but in our opinion, the golden foliage and dramatic skies are worth it — particularly in Hatcher Pass. As my grandfather would say, bad weather is only an attitude, and thankfully these New Yorkers agreed because we got pelted by water in all it’s forms throughout their elopement.

On a hidden little slice of land near Glacier Bay National Park, in a place formerly known as Strawberry Point, Jolin and Maddy said their vows. These animal lovers traveled with family from Texas to Southeast Alaska to celebrate Maddy’s grandfather’s birthday and took the opportunity to elope while they were there.
